The mission of DEFAP/Fiesta Mexicana Dance Company is to preserve cultural heritage and help youths by providing programs that build self-esteem and social development while creating a sense of belonging.

Maestra Silvia Lozano is one of the most distinguished artists recognized internationally as a leading advocate of authentic Mexican folklore. Her Spanish, French and Indian descent, exemplify the unique blend of Mexico. Thus, she has associated with Fiesta Mexicana Dance Company to work side by side as the only official group that represents Mexico in the U.S.A. and it is a great honor as we accept that compromise.
YWCA Maricopa County is dedicated to eliminating discrimination, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Our vision is to develop opportunities for women’s growth in leadership and power to achieve human rights, dignity, freedom health, security, justice and peace for all people.
The Latino Institute, a program of the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is an alliance of individuals, government agencies, businesses and community organizations dedicated to ensuring the quality of life for all. Through a unique design that includes various special events and community outreach, the Institute seeks to present lectures, panels, workshops, and/or multimedia presentations that will actively engage participants of all age groups and socioeconomic backgrounds in meaningful dialogue that contributes to the heart of our community.

Since its inception in 2000, the Latino Institute has successfully provided programs that truly celebrate inclusion. The Latino Institute reaches out not only to the Latino base of the City of Phoenix, but to its entire community within our great City. Through this outreach, the community receives value, respect, and is supported with information to enhance their quality of life.
ASU’s renowned West campus offers professional and liberal arts degree programs to nearly 9,000 students in northwest Phoenix – the center piece of a burgeoning region representing a new frontier in commerce, sports, recreation, arts ad lifelong learning opportunities.
